Spanish Spelling Bee Winners

Colinas del Norte Elementary held its Spanish Spelling Bee on Friday, February 11th.  Eleven students in grades 4th and 5th competed in the Spanish Spelling Bee coordinated by Christina Trujillo, Ph.D. (CDNE English Language Developlent Coordinator).   After several rounds, Amber Lynn Villasmil placed first and Jovany Gomez placed second.  They will represent CDNE at the RRPS District Spanish Spelling Bee next month. CDNE would like to thank Brendajulissa Días (2nd Grade Teacher) for pronouncing and clarifying each word in the Spanish Spelling Bee.  CDNE would also like to thank Erika Esperón, (RRPS district translator) and Nadine Henderson (RRPS Speech and Language Pathologist) for judging the event.  CDNE is so proud of all of its participants.
